Derek was with his agency for 1 year with 7-8 actual months of audition/ booked work. He passed on an agent in 2016 for the time being.

Derek has taught on-screen camera technique/ audition classes and participated local film festival panel Q/A's and as a past guest. Derek was thanked in the credits of the film, Lucky 7, as the original pick to star but he passed, although he did readings with several actors for the director.
